"I've listened to music ever since I was really young, it didn't matter what genre it was. I've wanted to play drums even before I knew what a drum set looked like. When I was young I remember hearing Steve Smith's drum solo on one of my dad's "Live Journey" cassettes in his car and that blew my mind. I knew from then on that I wanted to play. I never had a drum set until my senior year of high school. iIn 2002/2003 I bought Ludwig Accent Series from Spott's Music in Indiana. I didn't have enough money for cymbals, just the drums. When I was finally able to afford symbols, I began learning how to play on my own by listening to classic Aerosmith and Metallica. Later I began learning more complex drumming and rhythms, while listening to John Bonham from Led Zeppelin, Matt McDonough from Mudvayne, and Danny Carey from Tool. Someday I would like to be labeled a professional drummer, but if not I'll continue to enjoy learning and playing."
